This print was sourced in Leiden, Netherlands.
The original Blue Nude II was created by Matisse in 1952. The famed artist used gouache on paper, cut and pasted to create the striking blue forms. This technique was an adaption due to Matisse's physical decline later in life. The Nu Bleu series consisted of several series of these collages, of varied composition. These originals works were also recreated in prints overseen by Matisse.
The original Nu Bleu II can be viewed at the Centre Georges Pompidou, in Paris, France.
