Beautifully glazed Majolica frog dating from the mid 20th Century. The triple-tone green skin features an almost milky, lava quality. It's the unique glazing that makes this frog so distinctive. Special care was taken to the sculpting of his anatomy as well as the craftsmanship of the glaze. The ceramic frog is unmarked, however he was sourced in the Netherlands -- although this frog may have originally originated in France. He sits attentively as if ready for conversation. Such a gezellig fellow!
